According to a new poll by YouGov, more than a quarter of Americans want official recognition of Bitcoin.
Of the 4,912 Americans surveyed, 11% strongly support such an initiative, while 16% support it to some extent.
The majority of people who want to make Bitcoin official are between the ages of 25-34. This also corresponds to 44% of those demanding the official adoption of Bitcoin.
Only 11% of the Baby Boomer generation is in favor of such an initiative. 43% of them prefer to strongly oppose this idea.
21% of Americans seeking official adoption of Bitcoin have an annual income of more than $80,000. 11% of Americans earning less than $40,000 are in favor of Bitcoin adoption.
While 33% of men want Bitcoin to be adopted, this rate is limited to 21% for women.
29% of Democrats support this idea, while 26% of Republicans support the idea of adopting Bitcoin.
El Salvador officially adopted Bitcoin on September 7. Apparently, some Americans also want their country to follow the same path.
