The IAA Mobility trade fair, which is currently being held in Munich, Germany, is an opportunity to discover several new concept cars which attempt to achieve a successful synthesis between respect for the environment, comfort and innovation.

BMW i Vision Circular: the fully recyclable electric car
With this new concept, BMW sees in the long term. With the BMW i Vision Circular, the German manufacturer presents its vision of a compact, luxurious and sustainable car by 2040. This fully electric four-seater concept with a clean design was designed according to the principles of thecircular economy. The result is a car with no exterior paint, no leather and no chrome, made mostly of parts made from recycled materials. 3d printed. The idea through this concept is to reduce emissions from CO2 throughout the life cycle of a vehicle.
Inside, the driver and front passenger move through a space while transparency, under a roof glass, where the screens are replaced by a head-up display on the windshield. Speakers located under the headrest cushions provide each seat in the car with its own sound zone, allowing everyone to enjoy their own audio content.
This concept also has permanent remote updates (OTA), which should significantly extend its life cycle. BMW also opts for two-way charging, which means that the car acts, if necessary, as a storage device forenergy able to supply its environment with electricity.
Volkswagen ID.Life: a small electric urban crossover that will go into production in 2025
In the shorter term, Volkswagen plans to release an electric urban crossover. The ID. Life is the founding concept. Made primarily from natural and recycled materials, the ID. Life has a 172 kW (234 hp) electric motor and battery high tension giving it a range of around 400 km.
In the passenger compartment, the seats are designed to be modular, the two benches can thus be completely folded down. Indeed, the manufacturer also envisions this car as a small mobile cinema room or even a video game space, thanks to a projection screen that can be deployed from the dashboard if necessary. Other devices than projector or a game console can also connect to it.
Volkswagen plans to launch a declination serial ID. Life by 2025 with an entry price of around 20,000 euros only.
Audi grandshpere: the “private jet of the road”
Audi presents for its part grandsphere, a concept of autonomous sedan level 4, that is to say that drives without the slightest human assistance in certain conditions. In this case, the steering wheel and the pedals retract, to make room for a real relaxation area.
Depending on the driving mode, the information is displayed across the width of the passenger compartment or segmented for the driver and front passenger. In case of autonomous driving, the projection surfaces can also be used as cinema screens for infotainment content or video conferences.
According to Audi, many of the technologies incorporated into the grandphere concept could be rolled out into production models by the end of the decade.
