(Teleborsa) –
“In the agricultural sector there have been some important evolutions over the last few years. Covid has brought to everyone’s attention the need to have a strong sector and corporate sensitivity has also changed a lot. There are models that are increasingly attentive, virtuous and based on sustainability that we must combine in an agricultural key. This is the future for us ”. This is what the president of Confagricoltura Massimiliano Giansanti, interviewed on the occasion of the presentation of the PMI 2021 Welfare Index Report promoted by Generali Italia which saw the awarding of 4 Confagricoltura farms as part of the 2021 Welfare Champion.
There are four Confagricoltura farms that have obtained the 5 W of the PMI Welfare Index rating. How did the sector come out of the pandemic and what is the situation of companies on the welfare front?
“Paradoxically, the pandemic has brought enormous attention to the agriculture and agri-food sector. This is because it has been realized that one must have strong agriculture to have a strong state. In the darkest moments you need raw materials, food, and therefore the agricultural sector has become important in the eyes of all. We already were, but perhaps, before, we were little considered. Having a strong agriculture also means having a strong production system and more and more companies are characterizing themselves through the adoption of a new working model. The issues of sustainability, from environmental to social, involve us fully and we will be increasingly called upon to make a contribution to growth. The four companies that have been awarded today already represent a shining testimony of this path and I hope they can be an example for many other companies in the sector. On social issues we are doing a lot, on integration issues as well. As Confagricoltura, we are also strongly committed to inviting all entrepreneurs to invest more and more in building a positive workplace “.
