(Teleborsa) – “Being alongside the Foundation for Advanced Biomedical Research is for us a source of pride, as an international center of excellence for research in the field of cellular and molecular biology “. He said it Marco Vecchietti, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Intesa Sanpaolo RBM Salute, on the occasion of the event held today in Padua at the Palazzo della Ragione for 25th anniversary of the Foundation for Advanced Biomedical Research.
“Healthcare and scientific research support have a particularly evident positioning among the priority objectives of our Group, in the awareness that these tools represent essential elements to face the future with greater serenity and guarantee adequate protection for people“, Added Vecchietti. The number one of Intesa Sanpaolo RBM Salute then recalled that the banking group made significant resources available during the pandemic (120 million euros) to support the National Health Service (with interventions that involved, for example, the creation of 500 intensive and sub-intensive care places, 36 diagnostic departments and of 1900 medical equipment) and has supported medical and scientific research projects of Italian universities and institutions (with a budget of over 1 million euros).
“Again in this context, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group is supporting the Foundation for Biomedical Research in defining a new pharmacological approach for the treatment of Covid-19 (300 thousand euros of contribution from the bonuses of our managers) – continued Vecchietti – Again, with reference to health, our Insurance Division has made available research grants in favor of important Italian universities (Universities of Milan, Padua, Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Rome and Calabria) and extended the health protections of our customers free of charge in case of positivity to the virus “.
“But it’s not just the Covid issue that binds us to the Biomedical Foundation. It is, in fact, one collaboration that looks to the future: I am referring, in particular, to the demographic dynamics and social phenomena that affect our country. First i Young people, which are the engine of our development, and in particular the many, too many, young talents and researchers who go abroad, to whom the Foundation has dedicated an important initiative supported by us for the launch of new research projects in Italy (100 thousand euros for the three-year period 2021-2023 – for a total of 300 thousand euros), i chronicles for which we intend to invest and develop new solutions, also at an insurance level, to improve their life expectancy in good health and respond to new care needs and, last but not least, the elderly who increasingly represent a fundamental component of our society ” .
“It is with these objectives that the Intesa Sanpaolo Group intends to continue to support all the players, such as the Biomedical Research Foundation, who care inclusive and sustainable growth and people’s well-being supporting the scientific excellence of our country, enhancing the role of the territory and concretely interpreting the public-private partnership in support of our economy and our welfare ”, concluded Vecchietti.
