Research firm Piplsay has published a survey on NFTs. 30,870 people from the US and 9,170 people in the UK took the online survey.
Survey results show that 41% of millennials in the US and 45% in the UK have purchased an NFT. In the USA, this figure is 18% for all age groups, while in the UK it is 5%.
In terms of categories of NFTs, sports related collections were in demand in the United Kingdom, while in the United States there was demand for branded NFTs.
NFTs with avatars like CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club are currently in categories that dominate six of the top ten spots.
Despite NFTs making headlines in the mainstream press, half of people in the US are unaware or have no idea about NFTs, with the figure rising to 68% in the UK. Americans have a more positive attitude towards NFTs; 32% believe NFTs are revolutionary, while 18% think they are a ridiculous concept. In the UK, 17% dislike the idea of NFT and 15% think NFTs are revolutionary. In the UK, 44% say NFTs are a passing fad, compared to 39% of US respondents.
