(Teleborsa) – United Parcel Service (UPS) – US giant of parcel transport and international shipping – has signed a agreement for the acquisition of Roadie, a technology platform that enables same-day local delivery with operations across the United States. The companies did not recognize the value of the transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021.
UPS explained the deal with the fact that its customers, including large corporations, “are increasingly looking for local same day delivery solutions for goods of all types, including non-traditional parcels “. In fact, Roadie provides a service for shipments that are not compatible with the UPS network, due to the size of the items shipped, their perishable nature and their non-standard packaging.
The Roadie technology platform was created specifically for connecting merchants and consumers with contract drivers to allow local same day delivery services. Roadie will continue to operate under the same name and as a separate company, and its packages will not intersect with UPS’s traditional network.
Marked rise for United Parcel Service, that draws a profit of 1.40% on previous values, settling at 191.7. The technical implications assumed support the hypothesis of a continuation of the day in a positive sense with resistance seen at 192.4 and later at 194.3. Support at 190.5.
