The already very competitive stick vacuum cleaners sector is welcoming a major new player. Chinese Hisense, known for its televisions and refrigerators, is adding another string to its bow with the HVC6464A, a stick-format stick vacuum cleaner.
The double-digit growth of the upright vacuum cleaner market (+ 13% in terms of value in France in 2020) whets the appetite of manufacturers who have not yet given in to its sirens. Among them, the Chinese Hisense intends to grab a few crumbs with the HVC6464A, a stick format model. This type of device places the main unit (made up of the motor, the waste collector and the filtration system) near the user’s wrist, who can then orient the device in all directions, equipped or not with its tube. suction, to dust the most inaccessible corners.
Unlike Dyson who popularized this architecture, Hisense does not use multicyclonic filtration technology. It is a simple cyclonic system which is responsible for separating the air from the dust before the air flow is directed to the foam and HEPA filters.
However, the HVC6464A does not abandon the latest technologies and adopts, for example, an electronic display on the back, which allows to have an estimate of the autonomy to the nearest percentage. So we can plan a cleaning session to avoid running out of energy when vacuuming the living room. In this regard, note that the HVC6464A has a removable battery (35 min of autonomy promised, at minimum power and without power brush), which should make it possible to extend the duration of use by keeping one charged for a replacement at the fly. Hisense still has to sell the batteries separately or provide an additional one, which does not seem (yet) to be the order of the day.
Full of features to make life easier for the user
On the practical side, the waste bin with a volume of 0.55 liters is equipped with a HEPA filter cleaning system called Turn & Clean. According to the manufacturer, it is necessary to turn a wheel placed at the base of the collector to remove any dust that may have accumulated on the filter in question. Still with a view to making life easier for the user, the rigid suction tube has a hinge in the middle; thanks to this articulation, you can easily go under furniture without having to bend down. Obviously, the head is equipped with a led ramp to illuminate these places and spot dust at a glance. Note that it also illuminates dark floors to reveal rubbish that would otherwise be difficult to see.
We will have to wait a little before being able to equip ourselves with the Hisense HVC6464A stick vacuum cleaner, since it must be marketed during the month of October 2021 at a price of 279 €. For this price, it comes with a soft roller for the suction head, a flexible tube, a short nozzle, a brush, a mini-power brush for cleaning sofas or car seats and, finally, a mop to attach. using a magnet behind the suction head.
