(Teleborsa) – “Last quarter the electricity bill increased by 20%, next quarter increases by 40%, these things must be said, we have a duty to face them “. This was stated by the Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani in Genoa during a conference organized by the CGIL. “It happens – he added – because the price of gas at the international level increases, it happens because the price of CO2 produced also increases”.
“The fundamental message to be given is that the ecological transition must be made as soon as possible managing to transform electricity into renewable electricity. We must bring the quantity of electricity produced in Italy to over 70% from renewable sources ”, he said, speaking of the objectives that Italy must set itself.
“We must rapidly and progressively raise the supply of renewable electricity in Italy. Every year we have to put in 8 gigawatts of renewable energy, now we put in 0.8 – he explained – If we are able to produce green electricity, the whole chain of battery-powered cars from that moment on through the less polluting transformation of manufacturing systems will become possible. It is clear that if we transform a car into electricity, however, we produce electricity from coal, it is not a solution ”.
