Recording artist Ja Rule, whose albums are number one on the charts and known for songs like “Always on Time,” spoke to Bitcoin.com News about NFTs and the crypto-asset ecosystem.

While describing his admiration for NFTs, Ja Rule also mentioned that this field is very different, in addition to his interest in crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The famous rapper said that he believes crypto assets are the next advancement of the economy and that the NFT space will one day be a multi-billion dollar industry.

I’ve been off my NFT’s for couple days what I miss???

— Ja Rule (@jarule) September 10, 2021

Explaining that his first venture to NFTs was with NBA Top Shot, the famous rapper said that he started collecting Top Shot NFTs and entered this field, but he was not even aware that they were NFTs at that time;

“I just thought they were like new digital sports cards. I started collecting these because I collect regular sports cards. This seemed like the next obvious advance for sports cards. Then a friend told me that what I was collecting were actually NFTs.”

Talking about the rise of digital currencies like Bitcoin in addition to NFTs, Ja Rule said;

“I love Bitcoin, I love Ethereum, I love crypto assets and they are decentralized. I think this is the next step in the economy. The next five or ten years will be interesting. I have some Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Cardano on hand. Actually, I have my own cryptocurrency. I have a social token in a company called ICONN. I haven’t launched it yet, I haven’t released it, but I definitely have my own currency ready to use.”

Speaking about the entry of many hip-hop artists, rappers and artists from many different fields into the NFT industry, Ja Rule said;

“I think people really come into this industry to understand what NFTs are. The stock market, the country sports club and the community all in one, this is very interesting.”

Saying that he also likes the decentralized system, Ja Rule said that it is very interesting that people can move their money in different ways and that there is a currency that they can use in all forums.
