The fibrillations within the parliamentary majority – especially in the League, divided between the favorable governors of the North, and the secretary Salvini, wandering – led Mario Draghi to slow down and take time on the Green pass extended for all workers. The premier aims to override the local elections to give political forces time to find a square, then the decisive acceleration will be reached.
The Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday 9 September gave the green light to the extension of the Covid passport for three categories of workers, but according to various rumors, the premier intends to further expand the obligation of green certification (here all about how to get it and where serves).
In fact, the Minister of Public Administration Renato Brunetta pushes to extend the obligation to all public employees, and at that point it would be difficult for the government to justify the obligation for the public sector and not for the private one. Probably this by Prime Minister Draghi was a smart move especially to take time and ease Salvini’s pressure. (see here the categories for which the Green pass is already mandatory).
They are on the table at Palazzo Chigi at the moment two hypotheses: an extension of the pass to state-only already this week or, alternatively, a single provision for the whole world of work the following week. Confindustria and trade unions are not against it.
However, the rule would not be in effect before a month: the time to allow the unvaccinated to adapt, and allow the parties to face the first round of administrative.
