(Teleborsa) – In the week to 10 September, with the PEPP program, the ECB took over € 20.8 billion in securities, lower than the previous week’s € 19.3 billion, while € 6.1 billion of maturing debt was repaid. The net purchases they are therefore equal to 14.7 billion, a decrease compared to the 16.7 billion of the week to 3 September. Since the pandemic purchase plan was launched in March 2020, the cumulative of securities reached € 1,356.5 billion. These are some of the data contained in the weekly budget report of the European Central Bank.
With the government bond purchase program, pre-existing to the crisis and whose cumulative amounted to 2,447.4 billion euros, the ECB bought a further 9.7 billion of securities. In this case, against repayments of 9.3 billion euros, the amount of net purchases is 0.4 billion. The Eurosystem also acquired € 0.7 billion bond garantiti and 2.6 billion private sector bonds. In total, the number of purchases of securities reached in the second week of September 2021 was 33.8 billion euros, compared to 27.3 billion the previous week.
