El Salvador President Nayib Bukele announced on his personal Twitter account that the errors in the Bitcoin wallet application Chivo have been fixed by the technical teams, 95% of the problems have been fixed, and that the remaining problems will be 100% resolved in the coming days.
Continuing to work on this issue after El Salvador declared Bitcoin the legal currency, President Nayib Bukele stated that the technical problems of the Chivo wallet, which has more than half a million users, have been resolved and that there are 51 Chivo points working at full capacity. He stated that Chivo can be used at 200 different ATMs in El Salvador and 50 different ATMs in the United States, mainly in regions such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
Bukele stated that they are working to improve the user experience and to solve the technical problems experienced so far:
βWe are working to bring more benefits. We put ourselves in a tough struggle to get everything out in 3 months. We’ve made some mistakes, but we’re fixing them, and now hundreds of thousands of El Salvadorans can use Chivo without any issues.β
