According to Expansion Politica’s report, Política, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador rejected the idea of legal adoption of Bitcoin (BTC).
At his press conference today, Lopez Obrador stated that the management is trying not to innovate too much in terms of financial management:
The president said their first goal is to get Mexicans well-paid and to eliminate tax evasion.
Lobez Obrador considers that it is not necessary to invest in crypto assets to ensure the development of the country.
The Bank of Mexico thwarted the plans of Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego by announcing in June that cryptos are banned for financial institutions.
