(Teleborsa) – UK retail sales are holding back. According to theOffice for National Statistics, in September, they marked a decrease of 0.2% on a monthly basis, after the -0.6% achieved in August. The figure is even worse than analysts’ expectations which were for growth of 0.5%.
On an annual basis there is a negative change by 1.3% compared to -0.2% in August and against the -0.4% of the consensus.
the core retail sales, which exclude fuels, they fell by 0.6% on the month after the -1.2% of the previous month and against a + 0.2% estimated by the market. Over the year, the core figure was -2.6% compared to the previous -1.7% and the -0.9% expected.
