Impact of products
- 15.3 million people have completely switched to PMI’s smokeless products and quit cigarettes as of December 31, 2021; there were 13 million in 2020.
- 29.1% of net revenues came from smoke-free products, which were available for sale in 71 markets around the world at the end of the year; up from 23.8% and the 64 in which they were available in 2020;
- 99% of investments in Research and Development destined for products without combustion.
Operational impact
- 39.7% of managerial positions occupied by women, in line with the 40% target set for 2022;
- 67% of contract growers who supply tobacco to SMEs earn income from work, up from 48% in 2020;
- Reduction of 18% of the total CO2e emissions of the value chain and of 33% compared to the 2019 base value of emissions from direct operations;
- 100% of the tobacco purchased without any risk of deforestation of primary and protected forests.
