The folding smartphone may not have democratized as quickly as expected, but sales figures show growing interest. In this sector, Samsung has a virtual monopoly with its Galaxy Z Flip and Fold ranges, which will be renewed during the Unpacked scheduled for August 10.
And the least we can say is that competitors are in no hurry to release equivalent devices in Europe. However, it seems that Oppo is preparing an offensive in our regions.
A desire for Europe?
The Chinese giant has managed to find a place for itself thanks to a diversified catalog, ranging from entry-level to the most premium smartphones thanks to its Find X. But it also benefits from a certain expertise in folding devices.
At the beginning of the year, we were able to take control of the Find N, a model of this type, which had particularly convinced us. Alas, he had remained confined to his domestic market.
The leaker Mukul Sharma, however, believes that the next version could be marketed in Europe. On his Twitter account, he shared a document showing that Oppo would have registered two new product names for the old continent: Oppo Find N Flip and Find N Fold.

Using a nomenclature similar to that of Samsung, Oppo hints that two models adopting formats comparable to those of the South Korean are in preparation. We remind you, however, that you have to take your information with a grain of salt.
The strategy would make sense though. The brand has already shown its know-how in this area, and attacking Samsung head-on would allow it to be highlighted, on the Internet and in the specialized media.
Moreover, positioning oneself in this fledgling market would create competition, which is always to the consumer’s advantage. Especially since the latest generation of folding smartphones from Samsung is likely to look a lot like the previous one.
