Favor the ultra-fast internet connectivity and the digitalization of the production system throughout the national territory. This is the objective of the voucher plan for connectivity launched by the MISE. Although 85% of the ceiling is still available, companies and professionals interested in the bonus – as highlighted by Il Sole 24 Ore – must accelerate with requests. And in some cases it may already be too late.
What it is and to whom it is addressed
The measure provides for the payment of a connectivity voucher for ultra-fast internet subscriptions. The measure is aimed at: micro, small and medium-sized enterprisesnatural persons holders of VAT number who exercise, on their own or in associated form, an intellectual profession pursuant to article 2229 of the Civil Code, or one of the non-organized professions referred to in law no. 4. Initially created for companies up to a maximum of 250 employees, the voucher subsequently saw an expansion of the number of beneficiaries. Starting from 23 May 2022, professionals who work on their own or in associated form can also request the connectivity voucher for ultra-broadband services.
How does it work
To each beneficiary, identified with a VAT number / company tax code, it can be issued only one voucher (for companies that have more than one office, however, only one voucher will be issued). Companies will be paid a contribution that may vary in consideration of the different connectivity characteristics and in the presence of step change (intended as an increase in connection speed) with respect to the level of connectivity that may already be available at the company headquarters, made with any technology that meets the required performance. Potential beneficiary companies will be able to request the voucher from any of the accredited operators, until the allocated resources are exhausted and, in any case, no later than 15 December 2022. The implementation of the intervention is entrusted to Infratel Italia SpAunder the supervision of the Directorate General for Electronic Communication, Broadcasting and Postal Services (DGSCERP) of the Ministry.
Duration of the Plan
The Business Voucher Plan will last until resources are exhausted allocated and, in any case, no later than 15 December 2022. The duration – the Mise says – may be extended for a further year, subject to the availability of resources and following an evaluation by the European Commission.
Type of voucher
I vouchers are of three types: A (300 euros), B (500 euros) and C (2,000 euros) to which 500 euros can be added for any reconnection costs. The value of the voucher varies according to the speed available at the customer’s address, which correspond to different commercial offers.
Because you have to hurry
Of the 576.701.476 euros made available, 4.50% (equal to 25.927.432) is “booked” and 10.56% (60.927.601) has been “activated”. 84.94% of the available resources are still available to businesses and professionals (489,846,443). Yet, according to the analysis of the Sole 24 Ore, in certain Regions is now difficult to aim for the largest voucher, the one from 2,500 euros. This is because the money available is drawn from the Development and Cohesion Fund, which by its nature assigns a greater weight to some Southern Regions. In addition, 25% of the resources are allocated to type A vouchers, 50% to that B and remaining 25% to the voucher C. Therefore some types of vouchers in some Regions may no longer be available.
