After Forza Italia and after the 5 Star Movement – where there have been the Parliamentarians, but where Conte has also armored some seats thanks to his “list” (we talked about it here) – Brothers of Italy also closes the lists in view of the political elections of 25 September.
“Brothers of Italy has chosen to compose the lists trying to make the most of those who have spent in recent years to build, together with President Giorgia Meloni, a credible government proposal for Italy” reads a note from the party . “Representatives of the free professions, of the productive categories, of the world of culture, sport, tourism, agriculture, associations and volunteering were involved. To these are added exponents of the conservative world ”.
Fdi’s choices were oriented by enhancing parliamentary work which sees the confirmation of almost all outgoing parliamentarians. Many mayors and local administrators present.
Then the jab: “Many will be personally involved with a candidacy and many others who would have equally deserved it will not be able to take part due to an electoral system that does not allow everyone to be involved. We will work to involve all those who want and can in this great season ”.
The leader Giorgia Meloni chooses to put her face to it, on the strength of the numbers that would make Fdi the most voted party in the center-right coalition and therefore she as the possible first female premier in Italian history. Meloni is a candidate in Lombardy as a leader in the plurinominal in the Chamber, and in the same Region has entered three undisputed big names, long-term and sufficiently able to bring votes: the long-time friend Ignazio La Russa, Daniela Santanchè, current regional coordinator, and even Berlusconi’s former Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti, candidate for the Senate.
But Meloni also runs in the uninominal college of L’Aquila in Abruzzo (“A choice of the heart”, he said), and also as leaders in the proportional one in Lazio, in Puglia and in two Sicilian colleges, Sicily 1 and 2.
As for the others, all confirmed the outgoing. “Many candidates traditionally linked to the history of FdI, but also many exponents who shared the need to work with a patriotic spirit to strengthen this political proposal, coming from other paths”, reads a note from the party.
Inside the historical faces of the party – from Francesco Lollobrigida to Giovanni Donzelli, from Raffaele Fitto to Giovanbattista Fazzolari to Edmondo Cirielli – but also illustrious “rescued” by Forza Italia, such as, in addition to Tremonti, the former president of the Senate Marcello Pera, who leads the list in Campania, and Carlo Nordio.
And then again Eugenia Roccella, Giuseppe Pecoraro, Maurizio Leo, Antonio Guidi, Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata, Claudio Barbaro, Renato Ancorotti, Gianmarco Mazzi, Letizia Giorgianni, Fabio Pietrella, Marco Perissa, Elisabetta Lancellotta, Lucio Malan, Lara Magoni and Barbara Merlin.
Space also for young people, with the nominations of Fabio Roscani, Chiara La Porta, Nicole Matteoni, Paolo Inselvini, Giulia Baggi and Grazia Di Maggio. Andrea Tremaglia, currently provincial coordinator of the party in Bergamo and nephew of the historic exponent of AN, the former minister Mirko, is also ready to enter the field.
But beyond the names, to inflame the electoral clash these days are tones and topics of very little – and we can say dangerous – stature. Prima Meloni shared a dramatic, ferocious video on social media, which films a rape in Piacenza of a Ukrainian woman by an asylum seeker originally from Guinea.
Then, the theme of the electoral campaign became that of the elimination of “deviances”. A list of actions or behaviors, of a person or a group, that violate the norms of a community and therefore are punishable, or in any case object of disapproval, condemnation or discrimination. This is the sociological definition of deviance.
In the Fdi list there are drugs, alcoholism, smoking, gambling addiction, self-harm, obesity, anorexia, bullying, babygang, hikikomori. That is, together with serious pathologies and serious behaviors. A concept, that of deviations, “for twenty years”, as Laura Boldrini denounced.
The Fdi post was then removed, but as the deputy Dem Filippo Sensi observed, “it is not enough, we need an apology to those who have been insulted and considered deviant because they are obese or anorexic. Come and tell the families who live this on their skin ”. Yes, because considering a disease such as anorexia, for example, a deviance, is truly incommentable.
But on the right they believe it. “A healthy lifestyle, based on sport and goal sharing, is the best antidote to the use of drugs and alcohol. Giorgia Meloni is right to say this, arguing that investing in the right to sport means investing in the younger generations, cultivating their talent and helping them to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fratelli d’Italia will strive to make this objective accessible and concerted ”echoes the deputy of the Brothers of Italy Galeazzo Bignami.
On the left, however, they do no better, with Letta replying by launching the hashtag #vivaledevimoni. “To define a person with eating disorders as deviant is dangerous ignorant. Enrico Letta who answers the deviations alive is fourth grade level. So this campaign is degenerating into ridicule ”attacks the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, who joined the Third Pole with Matteo Renzi.
