Last June, Capture One launched its application pour Apple iPad. If the program was rather complete, this rival of Adobe Lightroom lacked a long-awaited function: the direct connection with a camera without the need to unload its memory card or go through a computer.
But since September 20, 2022, Capture One allows you to directly connect your box to an iPad via a USB cable or wifi.
An instant remote link
More than a simple transfer of photos, this function transforms your iPad into a real remote screen. Once your device is connected, as soon as you take a snapshot, the Raw will automatically and instantly be sent to Capture One, where you can modify it at will in the application.
You can also drive a minima the device from the tablet using a remote trigger on the iPad screen. However, exposure settings cannot be changed.
For Capture One, it’s about streamlining a shoot and offering photographers a set up light to quickly review their photos in high definition and edit them on the fly without the hassle of a computer.
Price and availability
If the 1.1.0 update is of course free from the App Store, the application, after a seven-day trial period, will cost you €4.99 per month. This license is not related to Capture One Pro 22, the computer software which costs €349 for perpetual use.
