Blockworks Report Highlights Amazon Might Make an NFT Initiative
The company plans to launch a new venture that encompasses NFTs, which could launch in the spring, Blockworks reports backed by four sources familiar with Amazon’s plans.
Blockworks said the tech giant has more than a dozen partners lining up for the project, which focuses on gaming. Amazon plans to create a platform to enable its customers to play crypto games and get free NFTs.
Although Amazon’s effort is still under development, the initiative could be launched next April, according to the report published by Blockworks. Two sources from Blockworks told the company that the platform will be run by Amazon or Amazon Web Services, a subsidiary of Amazon, rather than AWS.
The fact that Amazon’s interest in crypto and other products of the ecosystem is increasing day by day may allow other large companies to shift their attention to this area in the future.
