Ted Cruz, the Republican senator of the US state of Texas, has demanded that the vending machines in the Capitol building accept cryptocurrencies. If Cruz’s proposal is accepted; Vending machines in government agencies around Congress will have to switch to some companies that accept cryptocurrencies.
Cruz has praised Bitcoin in several previous election speeches and emphasized the decentralization of the largest cryptocurrency.
This latest offer from Cruz has not been made official yet. For the proposal to become official, it needs to be seen on the official website of Congress, but this is not the case at this time.
“Uncontrolled spending triggers inflation”
In a speech he gave just yesterday, Cruz cited the Biden government’s “uncontrolled spending” as responsible for high inflation in the US:
“I am here addressing the people of the United States. Now if you’re tired of constantly rising prices for food, gas, cars, lumber, electricity and rent, I’d like to say that the Biden government’s uncontrolled spending of money is to blame. They can’t stop spending money that doesn’t belong to us. We have to stop this spending that causes inflation to get out of control.
