Who was born in 2004 and thus accomplished 18 years old in 2022 can apply for the good culture 18app a start next January 31, and will be able to spend the 500 euros of the bonus until the deadline of April 30, 2024 after downloading the app “18App” or have registered on the site 18app.italia.it.
We remind you that this is the last year in which the bonus, as it is structured today, can be used by new adults. An amendment to the 2023 maneuver provides for the cancellation of the card with the 500 euros: the resources currently used for the culture bonus, around 230 million euros per year, would be destined for other purposes always in the cultural field.
Culture bonus, when those born in 2004 can request it
To request the 2023 culture bonus, those born in 2004 can apply from 31 January 2023 to 31 October 2023.
The amount of 500 euros must be spent no later than on April 30 following the year of the registration, which in this case is 2024.
We remind you that for those born in 2003, the possibility of submitting a request expired on August 31, 2022, but they can spend the bonus money until February 28, 2023.
Culture bonus, what is it
The 500 euro voucher is reserved for those who have just come of age, and is intended to encourage school and extracurricular purchases by those who turn eighteen in 2022, i.e. by all those born in 2004.
Purchases But they will only concern objects or goods relating to training, cultural entertainment and publishing, such as books, magazines o newspapers.
Culture bonus, how to spend it
There are no spending limits for a single purchase. However, it is not possible to buy multiple units of the same thing. For example, you cannot buy multiple tickets for the same movie show. It is possible to use both a voucher and cash for the same purchase if the merchant accepts “mixed” payment.
The amounts of the vouchers are deducted from the “wallet” only at the time of validation by the merchant (both physical and online). At any time, you can decide to cancel a voucher that has not yet been validated in the “Your Vouchers” section and create another one, always within the limit of €500.
Culture bonus, what can you buy
Here’s for which ones shopping 18 year olds can use the culture bonus:
- cinema ticket (single entrance tickets, subscriptions or cards)
- concert ticket (single admission tickets, subscriptions or cards);
- ticket for cultural events (entrance tickets to festivals, cultural fairs and circuses);
- books (paper, audiobooks, ebooks);
- museum entrance (single entrance tickets or subscriptions);
- museums, monuments, parks and archaeological areas (single entrance tickets or subscriptions);
- entrance to theater and dance shows (single entrance tickets or subscriptions);
- music courses;
- theater courses;
- foreign language courses.
- music (CDs, music DVDs, vinyl records, online music).
The recognized sum can also be used for the purchase of newspaper subscriptions, both in paper and digital format.
Culture bonus, how to get it
The registration procedure is active from 31 January until the deadline of 31 October 2023.To take advantage of the bonus, new adults must download the app “18App” or register on the site 18app.italia.it in order to obtain the electronic voucher to spend during the year, at the physical or online stores that have joined the initiative (here you will find the list of merchants who have joined the program).
To complete the operation you need:
- have the Spid, the digital identity system;
- be resident in the Italian territory or in possession of a valid residence permit.
The bonus is not paid in cash but it’s virtual. It is forbidden to monetize the bonus or the products purchased with the card.
