If the elders probably know Medion, it must be said that this brand has not been talked about for a long time. Focused on a host of connected products, from vacuum cleaners to refrigerators and televisions, the company acquired by Lenovo a little over 10 years ago is attacking the PC market head-on. gaming with its Erazer range. We wanted to know more about this new player and quickly got to grips with his computers.
Erazer Enforcer X10 and Hunter X30 fixed towers were announced recently, but it was the laptops that caught our attention. Four models will be available, covering all ranges and all prices. On the design side, we find an aesthetic gaming with well marked slices, but without RGB LEDs at all costs. The chassis are ultimately very sober, perhaps a little too versatile.
RTX 4090, mechanical keyboard, 240Hz display and… water cooling !
On the Beast X40, the aluminum chassis is well finished and quite thick. Logical since this PC houses an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, as well as 32 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz RAM. This muscular configuration will be cooled by a classic ventilation, but small originality, Medion also offers an external cooling box by water cooling (RGB, of course). Sold at around €250, it would improve performance by 10 to 15% depending on the game. The gain is not negligible, but then you have to carry around a bulky box – like Asus with its external GPUs – which transforms the PC into a non-mobile workstation.

Its 17-inch screen in 16:10 format, QHD 240 Hz and G-Sync, completes the technical sheet of the X40, as does the mechanical keyboard and its switches Cherry MX ultra-low profile, which make it a truly high-end PC. It will be sold for 4700 € and 3700 € in RTX 4080.

Other models are added to the series, but Medion has not bothered to offer multiple configurations per PC, and it is thus much easier to navigate. The Major X20 is at the top of the basket with an RTX 4070, an Intel Core i9 and a 16-inch 16:10 QHD 240 Hz screen. Its price is set at €2,350.

We then go down to the Deputy P50 in RTX 4060, Intel Core i7-13700HX and 15.6-inch QHD 240 Hz panel. No known price for the moment, but we will update this article as soon as we have the information.
We end with the most entry-level configuration: the Crawler E40 with its RTX 4050, a Core i5-13500H and a 144 Hz FHD panel, the price of which should be around €1,000.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to launch a bench or play; therefore impossible to have an overview of the performance. We will have to wait until early February to carry out our first tests of the different graphics cards. DLSS 3 should in any case grant levels of framerate never before achieved in game, which should prove particularly interesting on a 4K screen or a fast-refreshing panel.
