According to the Financial Times, Twitter has started to design software that will enable payment transactions on the platform.
Musk wants the payment system to support crypto as well
Two sources of the FT, whose names are kept confidential, stated that Elon Musk wanted the payments to be made in fiat money (dollars, euros, etc.) at the beginning, but that the system should be created to support cryptocurrencies.
After the news, DOGE and MASK experienced a rapid increase. DOGE, of which Elon Musk is the biggest supporter, rose 8 percent from $ 0.086 to $ 0.093 in a matter of minutes. MASK also rose 17 percent from $2.95 to $3.45.
It was stated that Musk’s vision regarding payments covers topics such as users directly rewarding content creators, purchasing products on the platform, and users paying each other.
Musk previously announced that he plans for Twitter to be the “app for everything”, including payments and shopping, as well as messaging. It was even written that the billionaire entrepreneur also discussed the idea of paying users a small fee per tweet with Dogecoin, but later abandoned it.
It can be concluded within a year
It was noted that Twitter is working quickly for the payment system. It was stated that the studies also include the storage and protection of users’ data, and the implementation of legal controls. Twitter is said to be able to make payments available within a year.
