OKX, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has decided to remove Gemini Dollar (GUSD) from the list.
In the statement made by the Exchange, “We constantly monitor the performance of all listed projects and regularly review their listing qualifications. We are delisting GUSD based on user feedback and the OKX Token Delisting Guide.” it was said.
In the statement, it was reported that GUSD will be removed from the platform as of February 1 at 11:00 CEST, and the OKX Convert feature will not be available for GUSD products.
GUSD is a USD-pegged stablecoin issued by cryptocurrency exchange Gemini. Gemini accused the recently bankrupt Genesis of failing to return the $900 million in customer assets it had under its control. This situation between the two companies turned into a polemic among the executives. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also filed a lawsuit against both Genesis and Gemini for selling unregistered securities.
After OKX’s delisting decision, GUSD fell below $1. Cryptocurrency is trading at $ 0.9879 as of 14.40 TSI. The circulating amount of GUSD is over 600 million.
