In Italy, retired women are more numerous than men, but theirs pension allowance is about 30% lower. A gender gap that therefore drags from work to social security treatment due to the difference in pay, the greater career discontinuity and the fewer opportunities for career progression. This is the picture that emerges from reading the data from the Observatory of theInps on pension flows for 2022.
Pensions, when the February payments arrive: the dates
Pensions: INPS numbers
The new pensions effective in the year 2022 have been 779.791 in total, for an average monthly amount of 1.153 euro: women’s pensions prevail in number, 437,596 against 342,195 for men, but with a lower average monthly amount, 976 euro against i 1.381 euro some men.
INPS also takes stock of retirement flows for 2021, the year in which total pensions amounted to 888,972, for an average monthly amount starting at 1,198 euros. Of these, 495,779 refer to women who also report a gender gap on the allowance paid this year: the average monthly amount was in fact 1,015 euros compared to the 1,429 euros per month for men.
Pensions and categories
In particular, as regards the individual categories, the pensions with effect from 2021 were: 286,996 pensions of old age (including social allowances), 295,072 pensions anticipate52,198 pensions of disability e 254.706 survivors’ pensions. In 2022, on the other hand, there were 276,468 old-age ones, 241,339 early ones, 42,063 disabilities and 219,921 survivors.
Managements
Analyzing the individual managements, the employee pension fund totaled 385,316 pensions in 2021 and 345,475 in 2022; management is followed by civil servants with respectively 165,938 and 117,448, artisans (95,234 and 85,519), merchants (83,779 and 75,508), parasubordinates (40,109 and 39,163) and direct farmers, settlers and sharecroppers (41,449 and 35,835). Social allowances, on the other hand, were 77,147 in 2021 and 80,843 in 2022.
