In March, the revaluation will also be applied to pensions that exceed four times the minimum treatmentthen those higher than 2101 euro. The arrears of the January and February pension revaluations will also be paid.
INPS had clarified this in a circular, explaining that for checks over this figure (equal to four times the minimum) the equalization would come once the Budget law was approved with the inflation recovery percentages.
Equalization in March
The INPS recalls that from 1 January it has allocated the 100% revaluation of pensions and welfare benefits to all users who have received payment, in the year 2022, of pension installments for an amount lower than or equal to 2,101.52 euros (equal to four times the minimum salary as required by the 2023 budget law).
For all the other pensioners, in March 2023, the INPS will proceed to attribute the equalization as a percentage based on the annual amount paid. In addition, the arrears relating to the months of January and February 2023 will also be paid in March.
How equalization works
It was restored for the two-year period 2023-2024 revaluation of the total amount of the treatment. As a result of this mechanism and an inflation index established at 7,3% by Istat, pensions increase up to almost one month more per year in the case of the 100% revaluation envisaged for pension treatments up to four times the minimum treatment (2101 euros).
The revaluation is:
- 85% for pension benefits between four and five times the minimum benefit;
- 53% for pensions between five and six times the minimum pension;
- 47% for treatments between six and eight times the minimum treatment;
- 37% for treatments between eight and ten times the minimum treatment;
- 32% for treatments exceeding ten times the minimum treatment.
For allowances not exceeding the minimum treatment, an extraordinary revaluation of 1.5% (6.4% for pensioners aged 75 or over) is envisaged in 2023 and 2.7% in 2024 .
