Sad day for fans of the DC Comics universe: the series Titans et Doom Patrol both will end at the end of their season 4, currently being broadcast on the HBO Max streaming platform in the United States. In France, the series Titans can be viewed on Netflix, while Doom Patrol airs on the Syfy channel.

A long-awaited conclusion
Let the spectators be reassured, this decision is planned for a long time, and has nothing to do with the recent arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran at the direction of DC Studios, which caused a major cleaning in Warner productions, and resulted in the permanent departure of Henry Cavill as Superman.
James Gunn made a statement about it via Twitter: “The decision to end the series precedes us. But obviously I wish the best to the talented creators, actors and the rest of the team that produced both series.”.

This anticipated end will therefore allow a proper conclusion of the two series, as stated by a spokesperson for HBO Max: “Although these are the last seasons of Titans et Doom Patrol we are very proud of these series and excited for fans to see their breakthrough endings. (…) For four seasons, fans have fallen in love with these series, becoming involved in their trials, adventures and legendary battles, which have seen them save the world time and time again.”.

As a reminder, the series Titans tells the adventures in Gotham City of a young group of superheroes led by Dick Grayson, alias Batman’s Robin. On his side, Doom Patrol is a spin-off of Titans which focuses on a group of atypical and socially rejected superheroes who will find meaning in their lives protecting the planet.
Seasons 4 of Doom Patrol et Titans are therefore intimately linked, and are both composed of 12 episodes, offered in two parts. Their first part was released (in the United States for now) at the end of 2022, while the last six episodes will be released during 2023. No release date has yet been announced for this double conclusion.
