It is the Indian manufacturer Liger Mobility which is at the origin of this innovation. Its new Liger X and X+ scooters incorporate a patented technology, called AutoBalancing, which allows them to balance themselves automatically, even when stationary.
Keeping the balance considerably improves the comfort of the driver, but also and above all his safety. This will also reassure novice drivers. This system is activated at low speed and when stationary, but remains on standby at high speed where the scooter is naturally more stable. However, the driver can manually (de)activate AutoBalancing at any time, depending on his needs.
To achieve this result, the system uses algorithms responsible for ensuring the correct balance of the vehicle. They could process up to 9,000 data points per second from the vehicle, according to Liger.
For the rest, the Liger X and X+ will be able to reach a speed of 65 km/h, with a range of approximately 60 and 100 km respectively. For its part, the associated mobile application will allow the driver to know in real time the location of his scooter, the history of his journeys or the state of charge of his battery. The vehicle’s computer system can be updated remotely (so-called “over-the-air” technology) using its 4G connection.
Reservations will start in the middle of the year, with first deliveries expected a little later, exclusively in India for the moment.
