Last October, Ultimate Ears, a subsidiary of Logitech, launched its concept of true wireless headphones with custom molding technology that is supposed to greatly improve feelings of comfort and sound insulation. We tested these UE Fits, which disappointed us due to their poor acoustic performance.
It is therefore now up to the parent company, Logitech, to launch its own pair of headphones: the G Fits. These take up the design of their colleagues from Ultimate Ears, and of course their personalized molding. The tips are indeed composed of gel which, after a certain manipulation, hardens in order to marry each morphology of ear to perfection. However, this operation is irreversible: once the headphones are molded to the shape of your ears, it will be impossible to go back.
However, the G Fits differ from the UE Fits by their gaming dimension. In addition to having Bluetooth connectivity, they come with a USB-A dongle (a USB-C adapter is also provided) with which they communicate wirelessly using the proprietary Lightspeed protocol. Thus, the headphones do not suffer from any latency and are suitable for all video game activities. This type of connection is compatible with PC, Mac, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and Android smartphones.
The battery life of the G Fits would also stand out from that of the UE Fits. Logitech thus promises up to 7 hours in Lightspeed connection and up to 10 hours in Bluetooth, against 8 hours for the UE Fits. The case meanwhile would offer a bit more of an extra charge.
The G Fits are now available in black or white at 249 €.
