In January 2023, Tesla revised the price list for its range, leading to sharp reductions depending on the model. If the brand’s recent customers feel aggrieved to have bought a 5000 model at 10,000 € more expensive, those who wish to sell their Tesla have seen its rating collapse.
Used at the price of new
For a Tesla Model 3 Standard Plus, the call price has gone from €53,490 to €44,990, making the car eligible for the €5,000 ecological bonus. In total, the client has to pay “only” €39,990. With such prices, prospects might be tempted to turn to the second-hand market to get the best possible deal.

The discount on Tesla vehicles, and more generally electric ones, has always been lower than for their thermal counterparts. But it is by observing the announcements that we realize that the second-hand market is no longer at all competitive. On classified ad sites, sellers want to limit the loss on a car that is often much more expensive. Thus, the rate charged regularly approaches the value of the new vehicle. It is not uncommon to find recent second-hand cars more expensive than second-hand.

Too long delivery times

If you plan to invest in a Tesla Model 3 or Y, we can only advise you to place an order for a new copy, unless there is an immediate need. The manufacturer’s order book having been well filled, the delays are likely to be a little long, while buying second-hand allows you to enjoy a car almost immediately.
The community site delais.fr lists the orders placed and the delivery times observed. For a Tesla Model 3, the estimated wait time is around seven months and 66.7% of orders are fulfilled between nine and twelve months after signing. If you order now, there is therefore little chance of receiving your car before August, which can be tricky if you plan to go on vacation, for example.
