The final update, which will allow withdrawal of Ether that has been locked for staking in Ethereum for more than a year, has been postponed to April.
As is known, Ethereum developers have been working for some time to ensure that the ETHs that investors stake are unlocked and that this is done without errors. In this way, the Shanghai update was enabled on the Sepolia testnet recently, and the update would then be performed on the Goerli testnet. The developers meeting today decided to deploy the Shanghai update on Goerli on March 14.
Goerli will be the last public testnet where developers will test withdrawals of staked ETH before activating the code change on the mainnet. If this step is completed smoothly, Shanghai’s activation on the mainnet is scheduled for the second week of April. Expectations were that the last step would be made in March.
