Along with the new 7000 and 5000 series models, including one with a cooking probe, Philips is launching a more affordable AirFryer in the 3000 series, part number HD9257. More affordable, but certainly not uninteresting. This model is distinguished by its control window on the front, a feature hitherto unheard of in the range of Philips oil-free fryers.
No need to open the drawer to check the cooking
Placed above the drawer acting as a tank with its 5.6-litre basket, this window allows you to keep an eye on the food being cooked. With the other models, it is mandatory to open the drawer to ensure that the fries or the chicken are not burnt, which requires pausing the cooking. On the other hand, it is still necessary to remove the drawer of the Airfryer HD9257 in order to shake it and thus mix the preparations and thus obtain a more homogeneous cooking in the absence of a mixing blade, a specialty of Actifry de Seb. The Delonghi MultiFry FH1394 offers a similar system.
Since the glass takes the place usually reserved for the control panel at Philips, the latter is transferred to the top. Point of color screen here, but a display decorated with sensitive keys. These allow you to set the temperature and cooking time, or to launch one of the seven automatic programs provided, for frozen food, fresh fries, meat, fish, chicken drumsticks, cakes and, finally , grilled vegetables. Philips also claims a total of 14 functions, compared to 22 for its most upscale model.
This model does not offer either the Rapid CombiAir technology of the new top-of-the-range models, but the Rapid Air technology which consists neither more nor less of a 1700 W resistance associated with a fan responsible for distributing the heat in the tank at high speed. ; there is no slow speed.
The Airfryer HD9257 is available now at the recommended retail price of €189.99 in the HD9257/88 version, but the differences with the HD9257/80 version – which we imagine to be the basic version – are not specified .
