We tested the K70 RGB Pro, a high-end keyboard that was interesting in many ways, but which failed to earn 5 stars. A year later, Corsair is back with the Max Edition of the K70, which doesn’t seek to replace it, but to complete the series with a tech sheet that goes even further.
Multiple Features and Magnetic Switch
The K70 Max clearly adopts the format of its little brother, with a numeric keypad, dedicated multimedia keys, volume wheel and double-injection PBT keys for better durability. It has been added a magnetic palm rest made of memory foam for better comfort during long sessions spent at the computer.
The big innovation is located under the keys, as the switches (switches) used are now magnetic: for each key it is possible to choose the desired actuation height between 0.4 mm and 3.6 mm, as was the case with the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini. , So the advantage is to be able to adapt to everyone’s preferences and to be able to adjust between different uses: less height for competitive gaming for example, and more dimensions if you just want to write on your keyboard. It is also possible to program two types of actions for the same key: for example, half-pressed to run with your character, or full-pressed to run.

This type of keyboard is unfortunately wired, but looking at its technical data sheet, the K70 Max has everything to become a reference. You’ll have to shell out a certain amount to get it, as it has an announced recommended retail price of €230, or €30 more than the K70 RGB Pro when it was released. In any case, we’ll see you soon for a full test of this promising keyboard.
