Mobile game giant Zynga officially introduces its first Web3 game

Zynga, one of the world’s largest mobile game developers and publishers, introduces Sugartown, its first Web3 game.

After purchasing Turkish game company Peak Games for $1.8 billion in 2020, Zynga became the first major mobile game developer to develop a Web3 game from scratch. Sugartown is built on the Ethereum network and players can have an immersive experience as well as earn rewards.

As seen in the trailer, Sugartown tells the story of three farm animals who accidentally open a door to another dimension.

In the game, the ERC-721-based Ora token is used as proof of ownership. While players gain energy by staking these tokens, they can use this energy to earn Sugar, the in-game currency used to play Sugartown and unlock rewards.

“We are excited to release Sugartown as both Zynga’s first Web3 game and the first Web3 game from a major mobile game developer,” said Matt Wolf, Vice President, Zynga Web3. We built Sugartown to address a need in the web3 market, but aim to broaden its scope over time, as we build a community of passionate and engaged users who we hope will continue to make this experience We’ll have as much fun bringing it to life as we do.” used phrases.

Zynga partnered with blockchain infrastructure company Forte to develop Sugartown. The two companies entered into a strategic partnership in 2021 to bring blockchain gaming into the mainstream.

Sugartown was first announced to the Web3 community through a strategic marketing campaign on X and Discord. Another sharing today from the game’s X account created a mystery. The post read, “We are just getting started. Be here tomorrow.” statement included.
