With winter approaching, the time for riding a bike in the countryside will soon be over for those who are more cautious. Nevermind, Decathlon has just launched a new Rockrider E-ACTV 500, an electric VTC designed for assisted hiking on two wheels.
A superior frame for the E-ACTV range
The most observant will notice that this new high-frame model (logically) looks very similar to the low-frame model released a few months ago. Their main point in common, apart from price in particular, is none other than their main motor, a 250W Yamaha with 55 Nm of torque.

Decathlon promises a maximum range of 150 km. Its removable 504W battery is enough to hit the roads, trails and other trails without stressing about recharging. However, this limit can decrease rapidly depending on the height difference and the level of support selected.
Requiring the E-ACTV range (for “active” electric assistant), the Rockrider E-ACTV 500 offers five assistance modes to adapt to your effort level. Selection is done via a control screen, which also offers a USB-A charging port. The Decathlon Ride application can still be used to take advantage of the statistics.

The Rockrider E-ACTV 500 is available.
This high-frame e-bike from Decathlon has eight gears and is slightly 200 grams heavier than the low-frame one: 24.7 kg. For details, count on Suntor SF15 NEX-E25 suspension fork, Microshift Acolyte derailleur, Rockrider Protect+ puncture-proof all-terrain tires and Tektro T280 hydraulic disc brakes. Mudguards and kickstands are present, while the bike is compatible with an optional luggage rack.
The Rockrider E-ACTV 500 is available in dark green for €2,000.
