The Haunting of Hill House, The Hotning of Billy Manor, Midnight Sermons, The Fall of the House of Usher… For years, Mike Flanagan has been the new master of horror everyone has been craving.
And after a big collaboration with Netflix, the screenwriter and director are gearing up to join the Prime Video streaming platform for a new series adapted from the horror classic.
A new adaptation of Stephen King
For his next creation, Mike Flanagan will tackle a truly monumental as it is no less than a novel. Carrie by Stephen King, in mini-series form.
Thus the screenwriter and director rediscovered the universe of the North American author to whom he is very close, having already taken his novels. Dr. Sleep etc Chuck’s Life on the screen.

Mike Flanagan will be the showrunner and producer of this future series (along with Melinda Nishioka). Carrieis currently in development at Amazon MGM. It is presented as “A bold and blessed new invention” by the studio. Note that although the project is well underway, it has not yet received the green light to go into production.

The novel CarriePublished in 1974, The Legend was the first film in the career of Stephen King, who would later establish himself as a master of horror and fantasy with his numerous works, e.g. Salem (1975), Shining, child of light (1977) The summit (1983) or even more He (1986).
As a reminder, Carrie Carrie tells the story of Wyatt, a shy and lonely teenager who endures the constant teasing of her classmates and her mother’s religious upbringing. One day, the young girl discovers strange telekinetic powers.

The novel was infamously adapted into a cult film by Brian De Palma in 1976. A sequel, titled Carry 2: Up to the clotheswas released in cinemas in 1999 before a 2013 remake with Chloë Grace-Moretz in the title role.
The release date of this series has not been announced yet, but Digitals Will definitely keep you posted.
