Integrating into the SmartThings ecosystem, an app on Android and iOS, the bar has many easily accessible settings. The application interface, which has been slightly reworked in the past few months, is still quite intuitive, featuring ergonomic and acoustic functions.
Regarding the controls, Samsung always combines a fairly classic remote control with a very small alphanumeric display on the front. The latter, while far from being as bare as some rivals, is a little too small, hard to read from a distance.
Like high-end products like the HW-Q995D, the HW-Q810D benefits from a connected dimension and is compatible with AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect protocols. In addition, the bar can be controlled by external assistants Google Assistant and Alexa. Above all – and this is the novelty of the Q810D – we are finally entitled to an integrated Alexa assistant. It is therefore possible to directly control the device through voice, which is a big argument for some users.
