While the BYD Sealion 7 will arrive in Europe, the Denza Z9 will be launched next month but nothing has been said about European marketing. The sketches give us a first look at the car’s interior.
BYD Denza Z9 reveals its interior.
One of the sketches shows a horizontal central screen with a very tall second screen behind the steering wheel as a digital dashboard. Two of the three rear seats have large leg rests.
The sedan will expand a wider offering from BYD, which will also launch its Tang DM-i hybrid SUV in 2025 and is quickly positioning itself against Tesla. The Denza Z9 joins the Z9GT in the Z range, whose pre-orders opened on August 20.
On October 24, Denza sales manager Zhao Changjiang confirmed on Weibo that the teams are preparing for the launch of the electric sedan: “Depending on the progress of preparations, the exact date will be announced as soon as possible, possibly next month.”. The BYD Denza Z9 will be offered by the end of 2024 for first delivery in November.
On September 13, the Denza Z9 appeared in the Chinese homologation catalog. The document mentions a PHEV variant and another BEV. As for known specs: 5220 mm long, 1990 mm wide and 1500-1518 mm high with a wheelbase of 3125 mm. Just like the Z9GT, the electric vehicle will be powered by three electric motors that produce 230 kW, 240 kW and 240 kW of maximum power respectively.
Denza is betting big on this sedan to establish its reputation as a premium brand. It remains to be seen whether the technologies of the Benza Z9 will live up to the expectations created by these earlier revelations. Response in the coming weeks with the official opening of orders and first tests.
As a reminder, the Denza is a joint venture with the Mercedes-Benz Group and the Z9GT sold out pretty quickly when it went on sale.
