NASA’s rover continues its journey toward the rim of Jezero crater, looking for new places to study or take samples. Looking back, the rover took a panorama of its path.

The panorama is a mosaic of 44 images taken on September 27, the 1,282nd visit to Mars. The photo shows us the Jezero crater seen from above, as well as several rover marks. Persistence still has 11 of a total of 43 tubes to collect Martian soil samples, according to a JPL press release. Some samples have already been collected in case the rover fails.
