Vizio MicMe: A sound bar equipped with two wireless microphones for your karaoke evening

Still little known in Europe, the American brand Vizio has a knack for producing soundbars combining innovative features and advanced sound technologies.

Its last notable iteration was the Vizio Elevate, a 9.1 soundbar equipped with motorized speakers that automatically tilt toward the ceiling when playing Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. A smart function to switch from music to multi-channel home cinema sound in the blink of an eye.

To stay in the theme of originality, the manufacturer is now back with a sound bar that doubles as a karaoke machine.

MicMe: Includes two wireless microphones and over 80,000 songs available.

Called the Mic May, the new soundbar allows the user to sing along to their favorite music tracks using two wireless microphones that are automatically activated when karaoke mode is selected. Then remove them from their charging base and open the MicMe Karaoke app (iOS and Android) to access over 80,000 songs.

Versatile, this system also allows you to sing along with any content playing on a smart TV or broadcast via Bluetooth from a smartphone. In addition, MicMe microphones are distinguished by their wand shape with a satin finish and a comfortable 8-hour battery life on a single charge via the included docking station.

2.1 sound bar compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X

The Vizio MicMe obviously works as a traditional sound bar for enjoying your soundtracks or listening to music. If it is equipped with an unprecedented stereo sound architecture, it still supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content. Hence accurate virtualization of 3D effects will be part of the game. In addition, a small wireless subwoofer has been added to enhance immersion.

MicMe works with the Vizio app, of course. This app allows us to improve the tone of our voice, add echo and personalize the color of the microphone LED according to our preferences. In terms of connectivity, the Vizio MicMe includes an HDMI eARC port. Simple and effective.

If the combination of home cinema experience and user-friendly functions seems successful, we deeply regret that the microphones cannot also be used as rear speakers dedicated to surround effects. Unless you’re a karaoke fan, this soundbar seems to have some advantages over other models in its price range.

The Vizio MicMe Soundbar will be available in the United States in late November for the reasonable price of $349.99. However, there is currently no information available about its availability in Europe.
