Updates to Freeboxes continue to pour in, constantly improving the features available and fixing the latest bugs. On November 5, 2024, Xavier Niel’s ISP is back with a new version, which will make everyone’s internet connection happy.
Carrying number 4.8.16, the latest update for Freebox Server Ultra, Pop, Delta and Revolution first offers significant improvements to Wi-Fi keys for guests.
Previously limited to a maximum of 128 people, these are now available as unlimited, allowing you to define a Wi-Fi network with a unique password for each person visiting your home.
Another development fixes an issue related to putting Freebox servers on standby. Some users have actually mentioned the impossibility of connecting to a Wi-Fi network after their Internet box exits this state (Wi-Fi Echo, Scheduled Sleep or even Disabled Wi-Fi).
Free also announces that it has fixed the following bugs:
- Fixed loss of connectivity issues with repeaters connected via Ethernet
- Fix cloud init configuration issue when installing VM.
A simple restart is required to install update 4.8.16 for Freebox Server Ultra, Pop, Delta and Revolution. It can be operated directly from the TV box interface or by unplugging and then turning on the Internet box.
