Honda made a timid foray into the world of electric 2-wheelers in 2023, by introducing the EM1 e (in the featured image), a small 50 cm3 equivalent electric scooter that didn’t bring much else to the market, except for one detail. . In fact, it allowed Honda to implement a sustainable development strategy, with full control of the production chain, including the removable battery, calibrated to weigh 1.5 packets of water.
Honda CUV e
The manufacturer returns to expand its range in 2025 with another model, this time equivalent to 125 cm3, with a strange name: CUV e: (yes the colon is part of the name). It has 2 packs of this 1.3kW Honda battery. Total weight with batteries is 120 kg. The motor delivers 6 kW. Charging is given for 6 hours, with 75% battery life restored in 3 hours.
On the technology side, the CUV e: features a color screen, keyless start and LED lighting and a USB-C charging port. Honda claims a range of 70 km and a top speed of 83 km/h. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet but it’s already configurable on the manufacturer’s website and you can request a test drive.
Honda EV Urban
On the prototype side, things are more interesting. Starting with the Honda EV Urban. It’s a maxi-electric scooter concept aimed directly at the BMW CE 04. Honda is banking on connectivity and AI to create a different driving experience. Either. The drawing already manages to evoke emotion and that’s a good point.
Honda EV Entertainment
The second proposal has a more understandable name. EV FUN (Probably For Fun) is a roadster type motorcycle with a very industrial design. The battery won’t be removable like a Zero or Can-Am. 100km of autonomy and compatibility are rumored with fast charging. Not quite a leap to the extreme, this autonomy is already achieved by a good number of models on the market. But we’ll see in due time, as Honda is targeting 100% electric by 2040.
