Moulinex recently launched a new Cookeo, but also another multi-cooker called the Multi-Cook & Fry. We will also be able to see a certain similarity between the two models, and even more so with the previous Kokyo because the design of the latter model changes little, but the Multi-Cook and Fry relies on different cooking methods. As its name suggests, it offers a frying mode that is lacking, at least, in star multicookers.
Another mod, but another low
The new Moulinex multi-cooker more clearly promises to fry without oil, but with hot air thanks to the resistance and the fan hidden in its lid. And like almost any oil-free fryer, several programs are provided to guide the user in exploring and using this cooking method that resembles the circulating heat of an oven. An oven cooking program is also offered. It comes with programs for frying, of course, but also for grilling, dehydrating, and combining steam and frying to create crispy food.
Because the Multi-Cook & Fry is actually a multi-cooker as well, with a second resistance under the tank and several programs, for steaming, but also for cooking, boiling, browning and boiling rice or cereals. No pressure cooking on the other hand. It’s a shame, especially since Moulinex offers a multi-cooker with pressure cooking and air frying through the addition of a lid: the Cookeo, but also the Turbo Food, which, in its fried version, also offers a capacity of 7.6l. is The Multi Cook & Fry offers a 6l tank, like the Cookeo which has another big advantage: a screen that can display recipes.
The Multi Cook & Fry is certainly not the most exciting multi cooker from Moulinex, but it is one of the most affordable. It was launched at a suggested retail price of €199 and is already available at several resellers for €149. Obviously this is also an argument to take into account, but let’s not forget the competition and in particular Ninja’s Foodi Max OP300EU and Foodi Mini OP100EU with their two lids, are also regularly put away.
