As the days get shorter, we’ve chosen to push you to your limits with this new competition focused on night photography. The idea is to force you to compose at a time when light is rare, and therefore precious. In every contest we’ve held over the past three years, you’ve proven to us that great creativity comes from obstacles, and that’s why we have high expectations for this contest.
As part of this theme, all genres are accepted, from portrait to landscape, including urban photography and why not macro. Need a little inspiration? We invite you to see the work of the masters who have created their favorite playground at night. Brassai’s Paris or Joseph Sudek’s Prague or even Todd Haddow’s Suburbs are good examples. In more recent works, the night trail of the Frenchman Alexis Berg, or the staged portrait of Julia Fullerton-Beton particularly inspired us in the editorial office.
We give you a little time to express your imagination, files must be submitted. January 12, 2025. Small details: We allow the use of flash, of course, but also retouching and practicing American Night. And as we must often remember, this contest is clearly free, open to all and not exclusive to owners of partner brand devices (this standard is never enforced). Good luck everyone!
