Iiyama G-Master GB2770QSU-B6 review: A responsive gaming monitor with some perks

The contrast is quite respectable, as measured by our investigation at 1287:1, a score consistent with that offered by Iiyama. It’s enough to get deep enough blacks to fully enjoy your games, even if VA panels excel in this area… without forgetting the Oled technology that obviously offers fantastic contrasts. is We are less persuasive than maximum brightness. Measured at 321 cd/m², it seems a little weak to us, knowing there’s no HDR mode to enhance it on this monitor.

Color measurement is also a bit too perfect and not necessarily easy to improve with adjustments, given the device doesn’t have a default sRGB mode. Thus we get a delta E of 2000 measured at 3.7 in the monitor’s default mode. Nothing catastrophic, to be sure, but the difference is enough to see the colorimetric drift with the naked eye. Above all, reds are very “explosive”.

However, we could improve this situation by modifying the settings and selecting the Gamma 2 option then we were able to obtain a more satisfactory delta E (measured at an average of 2.5). However, this will have a negative effect on contrast and color temperature.

The latter is indeed almost ideal when the instrument is set to gamma 3 mode with an average of 6450 K, close to the holy grail of 6500 K. Similarly, the average gamma at 2.3 is satisfactory.
