Moulinex Cookeo Wifi 9-in-1 Test: Entry-level electric pressure cooker goes premium

Launched at €280, the Cookeo Wi-Fi 9-in-1 is an opportunity for Moulinex to further enhance its popular electric pressure cooker and make it even more versatile. The entry-level model thus gets features worthy of most premium products, including a color screen, a responsive interface, connectivity and guided cooking.

Technically identical to the Kokyo Touch Wi-Fi in all respects, the Kokyo Wi-Fi 9-in-1 only gets a new design thanks to its interface. In the middle of this connected electric pressure cooker we find a small 4-inch color display, non-touch, which is why it is surrounded by sensitive keys and the traditional central dial already fitted in older Cookeo models. It has been redesigned, allowing you to navigate while turning the interface and select programs when you press it. Usage is quite intuitive. The size of the tank has not changed with a capacity of 6 litres, which is enough to prepare food for four or five people.

The interface is very similar to Touch Wi-Fi: the user will be able to choose cooking methods according to the food (starchy food, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, etc.) or the type of cooking. Note that Cookeo introduces three new automatic cooking programs: sous vide (to preserve nutrients and flavors) the food is cooked slowly), Slow cooking (which starts slow simmering at a low temperature to promote a soft texture), and curd mode.

Like all Cookeos before it, the Cookeo Wi-Fi 9-in-1 integrates up to 150 recipes locally. After selecting one, the user will be able to specify the number of guests they wish to cook for, with the device automatically adjusting the recipe, food quantity and cooking times. This feature is really very practical. On the other hand, we lose here the tutorial videos which are used to better understand the specific cooking techniques. We actually discovered – and appreciated – this functionality on the highest-end versions of the Cookeo, as well as the i-Companion Touch Pro XL Cooker Robot and the i-Coach Touch Pastry Robot from the same manufacturer.

The interface of the Moulinex Cookeo WiFi 9-in1 is perhaps less polished than the one found on the Cookeo Touch, Touch Wi-Fi and Touch Pro, but it has the merit of offering similar features.

Technically speaking, this model is similar to those already tested. That’s why you’ll get the cooking performance details in our Cookeo Touch Wi-Fi test.
