Recognized for being the first manufacturer to integrate xMEMS transducers into true wireless headphones, Creative offers two new iterations called the Aurvana Ace SXFI and the Aurvana Ace Mimi. Succeeding the Aurvana Ace and Aurvana Ace 2 launched last year, they promise better sound performance and more features. Thus, like their predecessors, these new headphones promise to be highly disruptive.
Arowana S. Mummy: The Integrated Mummy Hearing Test and LE Audio Connectivity
Positioned above the Orvana SSXFI within the Creative range, the Orvana S Mummy is distinguished by the first integration of Mummy Hearing technology. Thanks to a hearing test that takes just a few minutes from the creative app, the headphones will be able to establish a personalized sound profile based on the user’s hearing ability.
As Creative’s new premium earphones, the Arvana S Mimi also features the latest Bluetooth connectivity with compatibility with the high-resolution LDAC codec and LE audio standard. Paving the way for LC3 codec and Oracast technology, the latter provides low audiovisual latency and access to public audio sharing.
The acoustic architecture is still under the xMEMS brand.
Aurvana Ace SXFI and Aurvana Ace Mimi share the unique acoustic architecture inherited from the previous generation. Each earpiece includes an xMEMS driver combined with a more traditional 10mm dynamic driver. According to Creative, the association will “promoteCrisp treble and deep bass“
Full of promise, xMEMS technology offers several advantages. Powered by electrical pulses, xMEMS transducers will be insensitive to the distortion and vibration present in traditional dynamic transducers using the principle of a magnetic field. Being much smaller, lighter and more economical than conventional drivers, they will also take up less space inside the hull while offering greater autonomy.
However, it should be noted that Creative’s xMEMS technology currently relies on embedded dynamic transducers. So it’s not quite ready yet.
Super X-Fi Gen 4 native audio technology and generous battery life
As for the new features shared by these two pairs of headphones, we note the integration of Super X-Fi Gen 4 spatial audio technology, which according to the brand “A high-level listening experience“During Regeneration”Realization of multi-speaker system“
For the rest, the Aurvana Ace SXFI and Aurvana Ace Mimi are complete classic headphones. From the noise reduction system and transparency mode to the set of 6 pickup microphones, including IPX5 certification to protect them from bad weather, everything is there for a good listening experience on the go. Additionally, both models promise up to 7 hours of continuous battery life with noise reduction enabled. So we expect above average performance.
Given the innovations introduced, the other real tour de force achieved here by Creative is their commercial positioning. In fact, the Aurvana Ace SXFI and Aurvana Ace Mimi are already available at the respective prices of just €99.99 and €129.99.
