In a few days, CES 2025 will open, the traditional big tech show at the beginning of the year in Las Vegas. It is an opportunity for many manufacturers to show what their future holds. Just before the official start of the event, manufacturers are adding to their pre-announcements and teasers. This January 3rd, it’s the turn of the venerable Atari and MyArcade to unveil their collaboration around a portable console called the Atari Game Station Go.
Atari Game Station Go: Extraordinary Controls
There is still no question of knowing the internal features, exact functions, its price or its marketing history. However, a video has been published, which already tells us a lot about the look of the machine and its control between tradition and modernity.
As for the essential classics, we get a D-Pad, a (single) analog stick, four thumb buttons, which follow the organization of an Xbox controller, and four shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1 and R2 ) meet. Start, Select and Settings buttons are on the front, along with a credit button. Even more surprisingly, the Atari Gamestation Go also features a trackball on the bottom left and a numeric keypad on the bottom right. It remains to be seen which games will support these unusual controls.

Everything is backlit, while a rumor indicates that only the keys used by the game are illuminated. Finally, on the top edge we will find an HDMI output, a microSD slot, a jack socket, two USB-C sockets for connecting controllers, as well as a home button.
It remains to be seen in a few days to discover the exact ambitions of this game console, especially if it will be content to play old Atari titles or try to go further.
