If Dongbei showed its Fredo at CES, a small video projector that should arrive in France in March, the Chinese manufacturer took the opportunity to unveil a high-end model that is attractive in more ways than one. Its future MP1 Max should go even further than the already excellent Mars Pro 2 4K that we tested and which already displayed brilliant brightness. This new, even higher-end model will still offer 4K definition, but with a hybrid source that finally switches to a triac in combination with an LED.
A nice technical sheet to paper over and a few complaints
The manufacturer declares 3100 ISO lumens compared to 2450 on the Mars Pro 2 and so the gain should be significant during our measurements. Dangbei promises perfect calibration when leaving the factory as well as 110% coverage of the BT.2020, elements we certainly won’t fail to test.

Otherwise, we will get two 12 W speakers for the audio part and of course on the Google TVOS side to take advantage of all its streaming applications. Connectivity consists of two HDMI ports with an eARC, a USB 3.0 port, a mini-jack socket and wifi 6 and is present, just like Bluetooth 5.2.
Back connections.
Finally, the manufacturer has decided to take the step of a fully integrated fit this year, an element that was unfortunately missing from the Mars Pro 2. Automatic keystone is enough to watch your movies in good condition.
The foot lets you tilt the MP1 Max to your liking.
See you this summer (if the schedule is respected) to be able to get your hands on a model that will likely reveal itself as a major competitor in the market, at this price. but which must be less than €2,000.
